The Paris 2024 Paralympics is well underway and will be through September 8th, 2024. The Paralympics, just like the Olympics games has been a joy to watch, as we have stellar athletes competing for our country of the United States Of America. The U.S. in the Paralympics currently holds a total of 2,283 winning medals. The United States Of America over the history of the Paralympics has won 808 gold medals, 736 silver medals, and 739 bronze medals. The U.S. is looking to add to these exceptional winning numbers as we as a country compete in the 2024 Paris Paralympics.

Wisdom 4 The Blind's very own Tyler Merren will also be competing in the 2024 Paris Paralympics in the sport of Goalball. Tyler is a five-time Olympian having competed in Athens [2004], Beijing [2008], Rio De Janeiro [2016], Tokyo [2020], and now Paris [2024]. Tyler is also a two-time paralympic medalist, winning one silver and one bronze. We look forward to watching Tyler compete and of course bringing home the gold. 

As of Friday, August 30th, the United States Of America currently holds a total of 6 winning medals. These 6 medals come from the sports of track and field [1] and swimming [5]. The U.S. has won a total of 1 gold medal and 5 silver medals.The gold medal was won in the women's swimming 100m backstroke. The silver medals were won in the women's swimming 50m freestyle [2], women's swimming 100m butterfly, women's swimming 200m individual medley, and men's track and field 100m.

These 45 medals include a total of 15 gold medals, 19 silver medals, and 11 bronze medals. Sports that the US has won medals in include Para Archery, Para Track and Field, Para Badminton, Para Cycling Track, Para Equestrian, Para Rowing, Para Swimming, Para Taekwondo, Para Triathlon, Shooting Para Sport, and Wheelchair Rugby.

The U.S. has finished the 2024 Paris Paralympics with 106 winning medals. Of the 106 winning medals, the U.S won 36 gold medals, 43 silver medals, and 27 bronze medals. As the 2024 Paris Paralympics has come to an end, the United States has ranked 3rd amongst all countries for the most medals won during the 2024 Paris Paralympics. China ranks at number 1 with 220 medals and Great Britain ranks number 2 with 124 medals.
